New Bipartisan legislation protecting Pennsylvania families from lead poisoning

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Childhood lead poisoning — it’s what healthcare professionals, state representatives and other advocates say is an epidemic throughout the Commonwealth.

It’s also something that’s believed could be prevented with more testing.

“So, my son was typical,” said Dr. Karalyn McGrorty Derstine. “He was developmentally appropriate hitting all the milestones. And just after his first birthday, he started to regress.”
